Insurance
Central insurance registry for organizations managing policies across multiple entities — one record for every policy, carrier, renewal, and certificate.
Never miss a policy renewal — and prove what coverage was in force when any claim or due diligence question arises.
Scattered Insurance Records
Renewal dates live in inboxes. Policy documents sit in shared drives nobody organizes. Certificate of insurance requests come in faster than anyone can track them.
Lextree gives you a central, structured record of every policy, renewal period, and certificate you issue. Not an insurance marketplace or a claims system. A compliance record that proves coverage and alerts you before it expires.
Never Miss a Renewal
Commercial policies expire at 12:01 a.m. on the renewal date. Grace periods don’t exist, especially for claims-made coverage like Directors & Officers (D&O), E&O, and cyber. A claims-made lapse doesn’t just stop covering future incidents — it erases coverage for events during the prior term that haven’t surfaced yet.
Lextree tracks expiration dates and sends reminders at 90, 60, and 30 days before each deadline. When a policy renews, a new period record captures that term’s limits, deductibles, and premium. If terms changed at renewal — a higher deductible, a reduced aggregate limit, a new exclusion — the record captures it. Endorsements modify coverage mid-term, each with effective date, type, and supporting document. You see what each policy covers today, not just what it covered when bound.
One Registry, Every Entity
A D&O policy might cover the parent and six subsidiaries; a general liability policy covers one entity while an umbrella sits on top of three. Tracking this in spreadsheets means maintaining parallel lists that drift out of sync.
Teams still managing this in a spreadsheet can use the insurance policy register template to keep policy and renewal data organized before importing it into Lextree.
Lextree maintains a single registry. Each policy captures policy number, carrier, coverage type, limits, deductible, effective and expiration dates. Every insured party — named insureds, additional insureds, loss payees, certificate holders — appears with role and effective date. The registry covers every commercial line: general liability, professional liability, D&O, cyber, property, auto, workers’ compensation, umbrella, EPLI, fiduciary, marine, aviation. Each policy links to its carrier and broker through shared reference data.
Prove Coverage on Demand
Certificate of insurance requests are relentless: landlords before leases, customers before contracts, lenders before financing. Each request demands a response, and every response deserves a record.
Lextree tracks every certificate you issue — who requested it, why, what coverage it evidences, when it expires. Special provisions like waiver of subrogation and primary and non-contributory status attach to each record. Trace every certificate back to the contract, lease, or loan agreement that triggered it. When a counterparty claims they never received proof, the issuance record shows the date sent and the policy referenced. Certificates you collect from vendors and subcontractors are the inbound side of the job — see certificate of insurance tracking.
Insurance in Context
A lapsed entity registration can trigger policy cancellation. A new lease creates a certificate obligation. A loan covenant requires coverage minimums.
The entities you insure are the same legal entities tracked in Legal Entities. Certificate obligations link back to the contracts and leases that created them. Coverage requirements from lenders connect to covenants tracked in Treasury. Every insurance record links to its entity and connects to the compliance domains that depend on it.
